Titleist 2010 AP2 Irons on golfstoreshop.com
Building upon the high technology design and resounding success of the original AP irons, Titleist introduces the new high performance AP2 irons for avid golfers. The Titleist AP2 are multi-material, dual cavity irons that take the design mission of "Advanced Performance You Can Feel" to new heights. The concept for the original Advanced Performance irons arose as a result of research that indicated serious golfers want performance with great feel, not performance at the expense of feel. The Titleist R&D team’s advanced research group has been conducting extensive sound and vibration analysis aimed at reducing the harsh lower frequency vibration that causes poor feel in irons. This research led to combining several technologies and materials in the back cavity of the new AP irons resulting in a new Tuned Feel System to take feel to a new level. The new Tuned Feel System is a co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminum plate. This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each new iron. For the new AP2, a softer, more solid feel is achieved. Other subtle refinements to the new AP2 have created performance gains in feel, sound, and turf interaction.

The 909F3 Fairway wood is a high performance fairway with a pear profile and deep face. This club delivers mid launch with low spin. The tour proven, modern design creates a deeper CG for better stability. A smaller, deeper face provides confidence for players who trajectory and shot control. The 909F3 has half degree stronger lofts compared to the 909F2 which promotes a flatter ball flight and trajectory control. Precision cast 17-4 Stainless Steel makes up the body while a 275 Carpenter Steel face insert makes for a lively feel and increased ball speed. The multi relief sole minimizes turf resistance and ensures that the ground contact point remains forward to reduce bounce and skip at impact.

Futures:

1. High performance fairway with a pear frofile and deep face

2. Mid launch with low spin

3. 17-4 Stainless Steel body

4. 275 Carpenter Steel face insert

5. Stock grip: Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber

The Titleist 909 F3 fairway wood has the modern looks that have already proved popular on tour and which help force the centre of gravity deeper into the club to enhance stability on every shot. The clubface is deeper and smaller than the 909 F2 range which allows better players to enjoy huge control over their shots and the stronger lofts mean the ball flight is much flatter. The Titleist 909 F3 fairway woods promote enhanced ball speed while the sole of the club helps minimise resistance and reduces any bounce on impact.

Today golf is played by most executives and on the course is where networking happens and business relationships are formed. Also, today there are women that fill these executive roles and many have started to play golf for business purposes. Notably a womens' group of executives banded together and have thousands of members across the country in the Executive Womens Golf Association. Not too many Years ago golf was primarily a men’s sport and when women started taking over high positions in the work force, they did not consider playing golf as part of their job. Most women that hold these jobs are very responsible people and they have felt their time was more productive in the office.(Interesting observation about priorities.) Today golf for women is more popular and the female executives realize the importance of the business relationships gained on the golf course.

Some men are surprised when one of their foursome is a woman, and especially if it is their boss. Men can and do react in several ways notably: assuming a more gentlemen-like demeanor should be foremost.Trying to impress the female player is usually counter productive. The macho golf man may win the attention, but not the good graces of his work superior. The more productive attitude might well be-just act naturally. The men who act more like gentlemen than they normally would on a golf course do so because they are used to being respectful to women in other circumstances. Your female boss may have the authority and power, but underneath is a sensitivity which men dare not abuse!

On the golf course men normally tell jokes, drink alcohol, make bets and do other things they would not do in the company of a respected woman. Having a woman in their foursome should put them in the frame of mind of acting respectful as they would in any another setting. Many men think golf for women is great but co-ed golf is a new venture for them.

Male chauvinism is not a smart attitude, even if your boss wants to be competitive. If you must win then do it with grace and charm. Hear that guys?

Don't show off, even if you are the superior player. because one knows and applies the fundamentals of golf better, and is much more accustomed to playing is no excuse. The 18 holes of golf should be viewed as a day full of opportunities for the woman to see some athleticism, gather insights into her golfing skills and hopefully improve her knowledge about the employees who work for her.

At its core, golf is known as a game of character and if you must impress your boss, then show your character in its best light.

Most men by now are not bothered by the above situations at all. They probably play at their own club with other avid golfers who are women or their wife or sister has taken up the sport. These men will likely enjoy the day more than anyone since they will simply play the game of golf as they would at any business function. Their behavior should display their real business and social personality. This allowing the boss to get to know her subordinates better. The almost laid-back behavior will also make the female boss feel more comfortable with the business day and look forward to future golf outings for all employees. When men carried wooden clubs they could be invulnerable, but the golf club is a humbling instrument-so beware!

I'm reading a recent New Scientist article talking about the Five emotions you never knew you had and I'm starting to think about how our emotions influence our golf. And they're influencing us every time we play.

Now I'm sure that like the rest of us, you're experiencing all sorts of emotions every minute of every day of your life. It's a key element of living whether we are playing golf or doing something less important.

So what are these emotions I'm talking about? Well, as the article says, we all see different ones, but the consensus seems to include what psychologists apparently call the Big Six - Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, Surprise and Disgust. Well they all crop up on a regular basis in golf, now don't they? And they all appear either as desires or problems with many of the people who seek help from golf psychologists. They all tie in to Enjoying your Golf; Fear of Golfing Failure and Success; and Anger Management in Golf as some of the Secrets of Hypnotic Golf.

More indirectly, I guess that Sadness, Surprise and Disgust are also addressed by Positive Framing on the Golf Course; Post-Shot Routines: Planning your Shot, State Management in Golf; and Protection from Covert Hypnosis.

So what about the Five emotions you never knew you had? Well, according to New Scientist, these are Elevation, Interest, Gratitude, Pride and Confusion. You may not be surprised to hear that these fit in well with golf psychology as well.

Elevation, the uplifting emotion, is something we feel when we are inspired and motivated. In fact we have many expressions for it in our language like things are looking up. In golf psychology, I relate it to the concept of managing our physiology between shots. As I describe when talking about Physiology and Between Shots, if we walk the fairways with our head held high, we feel uplifted and positive. As a result, we play better golf.

Curiosity is one of the key things that make us human. It's also the key element to planning our shots - an essential part of our pre-shot routines. I know that I'm always talking about trusting your unconscious mind for better golf. However, the conscious mind with its analytical curiosity has a part to play as well.

What about Gratitude? Isn't that just the way we feel about a good shot? Well, that's true, but there's more to it than just that. As I describe in Positive Framing on the Golf Course, you can feel a lot better about a bad lie on the golf course if you think about how much worse it could have been. Being grateful for small mercies can have a very positive effect on your golf.

Pride can be a two edge sword - the New Scientist article describes it as the emotion with two faces. However, feeling proud about what happens on the golf course is what many of us play for. There's nothing wrong with feeling proud of a good drive or breaking 90, 80 or even 70 - whatever level you aspire to. You can store that pride as a resource when using NLP Anchoring for Better Golf.

That leaves us with the most enigmatic of the five - Confusion. Surely there's nothing positive to say about that, Andrew! Well perhaps I should leave that one to Richard Bandler, the co-founder of NLP, to describe why even confusion is a positive emotion for golf and life.

Confusion is the doorway to reorganizing your perceptions and learning something new. If you were never confused, that would mean that everything that happened to you fit your expectations, your model of the world, perfectly. Life would simply be one boring, repetitive experience after another.

Abu Dhabi Golf Championship 2010 Masters Odds: PAUL LAWRIE had fierce family rivalry to thank for his scorching start at the Abu Dhabi Championship yesterday.

The Scot soared to just a shot off the lead with a flawless six-under 66 - his best opening round for more than two years.

And Lawrie put his stunning show down to having spent the last fortnight locked in battle with his two golf-mad sons on a nine-hole course in Dubai.

That preparation helped the 1999 Open champ reel off six birdies on the National course yesterday to sit among nine players in a share of fourth, while Ian Poulter tops the board on seven under with fellow Englishman Richard Bland and South Africa's Keith Horne.

Lawrie said: "We were over in Dubai with the kids for nearly two weeks and they have a nine-hole course at Jebel Ali so I played a lot of golf over the festive break.

"I didn't practise and just warmed up playing nine holes each day with Craig and Michael - they are both extremely keen.

"Craig is 14 and plays off eight and Michael, who's 11, is down to 14-handicap so they are both very handy. It's tough to beat them but I did!

"So I'm not surprised to have made a great start because I have played a lot of golf with my two boys and hit the ball really well. It's just nice to be back."

Lawrie's score was his lowest first-round tally since he began the 2007 Dunhill Links Championship with a 66.

And the highlight came with a great escape at the par-five eighth, which he was playing as the 17th.

Lawrie found a fairway bunker with his tee shot then slipped while playing his three wood out of the sand. The ball veered far right into a waste area from where he managed to get up and down for birdie.

Joint leader Poulter saved the best for last with a brilliant 70-foot downhill putt on 18.

He said: "I hit it probably 10 feet too hard but it was on line and lucky enough it hit the back of the hole then popped up and dropped.

"I wasn't expecting to come out quite as fast as that after a five-week break but I will certainly take it."

Alongside Lawrie on six under are Alvaro Quiros and Sergio Garcia plus world No. 10 Rory McIlroy.

Golf is a game that often can often become such a mental fog that one finds they can’t get their game off of a particular plateau. This is often because the game calls for contradictory motions, particularly when striking the ball. The concept of hitting down to get more loft on a ball is a perfect example. Let’s take a closer look.

Despite what you may hear, the primary notions of physics are fairly straight forward. We know them without thinking about them. Let go of a golf ball and it will drop from your hand to the ground per the rules of gravity. It all seems so simple, but golf is really hard because playing well requires us to subvert these basic notions.

The concept of hitting down on a ball to get loft is one that just makes no sense. If you look at the club, the head is angled back. For all the world, this would seem to suggest that driving the head under and then up through the ball would create the most loft. I probably don’t have to tell you that this is not true.

To get loft, you must drive down on the ball. The reason has to do with the club design. The angled face of the club you are using is designed to strike the ball in such a way as to artificially create loft. This only happens if you hit down on it. By hitting down on it, I am referring to the portion of your swing when you should hit the ball. You should still be driving the club in a downward motion. The angle of the club head will take care of moving the ball in an upward motion, but the power of the shot will come from the downward motion.

So, why doesn’t the ball just get driven into the ground? Well, it sort of does. It will actually compress a bit because it is trapped between the club head and the ground. The only place for it to go is back up the club head. As it does this, it will release energy that is added to the shot.

Hitting down on the ball to generate loft is mentally uncomfortable. Try practicing it. Position yourself forward of the ball in such a manner that you can’t help but hit down on the ball. Exaggerate your position if you must. Once you feel the impact and see the result, you’ll understand that the technique works. From there, it is just a matter of endless practice to nail down the perfect technique!

The Mizuno MX-200 Iron's sees Grain Flow Forged forgiveness takes a huge step forward with the introduction of Y-Tune. A milled deep pocket cavity – that keeps the MX-200’s one piece feel intact – enhances the large sweet area even further. This allows the sweet area to match the miss hit patterns of amateur golfers. The MX-200 is the iron for both amateurs and professionals with a solid hitting area combined with an aggressive sole design. Mizuno’s MX-200 matches cast irons for forgiveness and increases the effectiveness of the sweet area by moving it towards the toe area of the club giving extra distance even on mishits. The X-200 iron proves that forged irons can be as playable as cast irons for the mid to low handicapper.

The new MX-200 irons with Y-tune technology are a quantum leap forward in forgiving, game improvement irons with the added benefit of unmistakeable Grain Flow Forged feel. Y-Tune technology successfully extends and expands the sweet area of the clubface out towards the toe to deliver amazing forgiveness on mis-hits. Through the use of a reengineered external power bar and inner Y-shaped cavity pad, the MX-200s are tuned for unbelievable forgiveness, great trajectory, and amazing feel. Further enhancing the forgiveness of the MX-200 is a slightly larger clubhead and the creation of a super-deep, milled pocket that creates a lower, deeper center of gravity, and delivers an easy, high launch. The MX-200 irons with Y-Tune Technology are unmatched in the industry for game improvement forgiveness and solid forged feel.

Innovative Y-Tune Technology provides a massive sweet area for unsurpassed forgiveness.

Grain Flow Forged, 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel provides the ultimate soft, solid, consistent feel.

Durable double nickel chrome plated finish

Modified U-grooves produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions.

Mizuno MX-200 Irons $349 for sale with free shipping !

The Mizuno MX-200 Irons are a big improvement on the MX-25 Irons. Not only do they look better but the Y-tune design on the back of the head does make them very forgiving. The other major benefit is that the trajectory is excellent throughout the set and the ball does not balloon off the face despite the cavity pocket on the back of the club head. This weighting does mean that the lofts on the Mizuno MX-200 irons are a little stronger than the corresponding MP irons. However the feel is almost as good as the MP irons as the forged heads offer great feedback combines with lots of confidence from the oversized heads. We really like the short irons where the cavity has been reduced and is covered up to give a sleek look and great feedback. The Mizuno MX-200 irons are one of the best forged irons around for mid handicappers so try them out!

The Mizuno MX 200 is the perfect club for the higher handicapper who doesn't want his irons too big. The increasing size of irons for the less able golfer these days can make you feel like you are the last kid at school to have stabilisers on their bike when you pull them out of the bag. Mizuno's brilliant design means that feeling is less obvious but you don't lose anything in forgiveness or consistency. Even on mishits I found the ball would travel without too great a loss of either distance or accuracy. I found the Mizuno MX 200's a pleasure to hit right the way through the bag.

If you are starting to play golf following a primarily sedentary life style then you will discover that it's going to be rather tough for you to just run out and play and an entire 18 holes of golf. But, if you were playing for some time you are likely in better physical shape, but in general your golf game will be greatly influenced by your level of physical health. If you are in good shape physically, concerning overall flexibility, strength and staying power then you can play a significantly better game than somebody who is in lesser physical form.

You are going to require to increase overall flexibility concurrently that you work to increase strength so as to have the best all round physical condition possible to be able to play. What this means is that you want to work to build muscle, as opposed to bulky muscles. The main differences is the amount of flexibility that the muscles give. Large muscles tend to be stronger, yet at the same time they are not as flexible which will significantly minimize your capacity to twist properly in your backswing. Nevertheless, building lean muscle is not difficult, on the other hand will take a mindful effort.

The majority of people who are working to build muscle strength tend to build muscle mass automatically. This is usually because they are using large amounts of weights. Rather build lean muscles you need to work to build repetitions of lower weight loads. This will enable you to improve your muscle strength, while allowing you to work in the direction of building the lean and slender muscles that are good for your overall golf game. Fight back the need to lift weights that are heavier than 10 pounds since this will end up in large muscles instead of lean muscles.

You should also work to keep the body as flexible as possible. What this means is it is advisable to be certain that you are stretching out both prior to and following playing golf to ensure that you are taking appropriate care of your body. If you tend not to stretch then you may find yourself very tender after a game and regret playing. Just stretching for less than 5 minutes before and after a round of golf will make sure that you are able to frequently play without having any issues and with no need of feeling as if you are spending more time stretches than playing golf.

When you are playing golf, it is extremely significant to keep in mind that you are sometimes out in the really hot sun. Because of this, you need to at all times ensure that you take some water with you to make sure that you stay well hydrated during the game. If you become overheated or dehydrated, it will begin to hinder your game at the same time as cause you complications in having the essential staying power to play. Constantly drink plenty of water to make certain that you are capable to continue playing. This is important irrespective of what type of training you are doing to make sure that you are as healthy as you possibly can.

Your final main idea should be making sure that you walk regularly. Golf may be a relatively slow moving hobby, but it does generally call for great amounts of walking. You need to be equipped to walk long distances free of losing your breath, or suffering from back or leg pain. These issues can genuinely lessen the amount of time that you can play and could potentially result in you needing to have to quit playing a game in the midst of a golf course. This is in no way something that is pleasant so ensuring that you get a lot of walking activity is crucial. If you have troubles with finding anywhere to walk then consider looking into a treadmill that will allow you to still get plentyof walking exercise especially away from the green.

A tiny bit of smart planning and a tiny bit of carefully planned and executed exercise can go a very long way in the direction of assisting you boost your golf game considerably.

There are so many drivers on the market today that you often get confused over what you should own. So, let me give you some pearls on what to think about when hitting a golf driver and what will help you in the future when you go to purchase a driver.

For starters, for the ladies, they don’t give you a lot of choices. They give you a Lady’s Shaft with a ten- or twelve-degree loft head on it.

So, if you're a little bit taller that the average height lady and you're strong enough, make sure to get the next shaft up, which is usually an A shaft, it’s a Senior Shaft. It’s nicknamed a Senior Shaft. It’s a little bit longer and it’s a little bit heavier, but you should be able to handle it.

Now, for the weekend golfer, the amateur, that’s maybe a hundred shooter that’s not very strong, there’s a shaft out and it has an R on it. It’s called Regular.

Now, that covers a large group of people. It covers the newer golfer that’s not very strong, all the way up to lady players that are good, long, and strong hitters when hitting a golf driver. So, that R Shaft fits in all of those categories.

The next step would be the real good players, maybe the 7 or 8 handicappers and lower, and the younger players. The shaft has an S on it.

Now, these letters that I’m telling you, L for ladies, A for seniors, R regular, S stiff, that’s the flex in them.

What this means is that when hitting a golf driver, if your speed of swing is fast enough, that makes the shaft flex at the right point.

And lastly, for the real good players, or the young and strong players, some shafts have an X on them. That means that it’s really tough to bend. You have to be really strong.

Let’s talk a little bit about the head. The loft on the head ranges anywhere from six degrees to twelve degrees, and all that means is that how much loft is on the face of the golf club. The more loft, the more backspin. The more backspin, the higher it goes.

The flatter the face, the less loft, the more it will curve left or right. So, if you have a driver that’s, let’s say, a 12 and you slice it all the time, you’ll probably want to find one that says 14.

If you have a driver that says 6 1/2 and you're a great driver of the golf ball, keep it. But if you curve the ball, make sure that you get a driver that has more loft, not less loft.

The grip: 99% of the grips come in a standard size. So, if you're a lady with real tiny fingers and hands, make sure that you get a Junior Grip.

If you're a man that has real tiny fingers or hands, get the Ladies Grip.

If you're a real strong player and you have large hands and you hook the golf ball, get a Regular Grip or a Jumbo Grip.

But if you get a Regular Grip, get it built up.

So, I think that may give you some insight into what’s out there. I’m a big fan of graphite. Unless you're a real young, strong player stay away from steel. It’s too heavy. And the performance of graphite these days is just incredible.

I think that gives you some information that you may not have been aware of and it’ll help you select your driver the next time you're looking for one.

Thanks.
